WEDDING ENTRANCE DANCE
Have you noticed the marvelous trend of brides and grooms who plan a spectacular entrance, or thrilling after ceremony event. From sky-diving, hang-gliding, sailing, or mud-bogging, each wedding is sure to last forever in the memories of the couple, and their attending guests. Here is another dance, sure to be as famous as the 'chicken dance.' Wedding Thriller Dance |

LIVE MUSIC OR DJ?
Light music serves as a pleasant background while guests pass through the receiving line, socialize during the cocktail hour, and eat dinner. If there will be dancing later, music becomes the glue that holds the party together. The question is, however, should you hire a live band or musician to play...or contract with an experienced Disc Jockey. There are advantages (and disadvantages) to both, so it generally comes down to personal preference. Thoughts on Live Music - solo musician or band...

SELECTING WEDDING MUSIC
Your first dance as a bride and groom is a very special moment, one that you will always remember, and the song you pick is also something that will always be a part of that memory. While that memory may be very special and unique to you, the song that plays is probably not.
It seems couples use "staple" songs; the same songs that have been played at wedding after wedding. Maybe it's time to take a different look at wedding music and explore some alternative options. Artists like Jacqui Naylor and Anders Holst give couples something new to consider.

Jacqui's song "Celebrate Early and Often" tells her own story of falling in love with her husband. In fact, the first time she sang the song was at her own wedding. Finding true love like theirs is the central theme of the most played "first dance" songs at weddings and I think the experiences Jacqui sings about in this song are shared by countless lovers around the world. This is best shown through the chorus: "Celebrate early and often / 'Cause wishes, can turn into kisses / So jump and sing, show off that ring and dance."
Anders Holst is another artist, who offers a more up-tempo choice with his song, "All About Soul." This is his rendition of the Billy Joel original, but with a smooth and jazzy feel. Anders infuses his own smoky, emotive vocals, while slowing the track down just enough. The chorus conveys a strong feeling newlyweds can relate to: "It's all about soul / It's all about faith and a deeper devotion / It's all about soul / 'Cause under the love is a stronger emotion."
Hopefully these ideas will help you think outside of the box in finding the perfect song for your wedding and give you some alternatives to the standards that have been around for years. It is your special day and the songs you select should be yours rather than something you share with countless other brides and grooms. |
